Happy Birthday to Star
Happy Birthday to Star
Happy Birthday dear Star cat
Happy Birthday to Star

Today is Star’s birthday. She is a Halloween kitty in every sense of the word. (She has a new costume for this year, but since I am in Panama and my sweetie is on a long shoot, we might not get to see her in it until I get back!)

Star is 11 years old today!

We love you Star! Happy birthday, kitty. Happy Halloween!

XOXO

He’s Here! (Finally)

October 12, 2008

He is here! And it’s about time!

Carrie and Towson’s newest addition to the family, Jack, was born tonight at 8:05 PM EST. Mommy and baby are doing fine. He weighed in a little bigger than Baby B — 9 pounds, 2 ounces — but he’s just a smidge shorter, at 21.2″ tall. Maybe he’ll play football!

We couldn’t be happier for you guys! Caroline has a big new job as big sister!

Congratulations! We love you!

XOXO

I think she has some pretty awesome plans with Melissa, Sam, and some other people in Gainesville.

Happy Birthday, ET…oops, I mean Jennifer!

Welcome to the World, Ashleigh Madeline

October 4, 2008

Baby B is finally here!  And quite on time I might add.

Ashleigh Madeline was born last night (Friday, 3 October 2008) at 8:03 PM.  She weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and is 20.5 inches long.

According to the proud parents she is quite beautiful, has a head full of hair, and possesses all her digits.  Yay!

I can’t wait to see the pictures.  With permission I might share one.  Can’t wait to meet her!!!

Congratulations, Karla and Justin!  We love you lots.

XOXO

Baby Bayfield on His/Her Way!

October 2, 2008

I’m so excited to announce that Karla and Justin are going to have the baby tomorrow! I’ve been calling Karla almost everyday to find out if this kid has arrived yet and everyday she has to tell me, “No.”

Well, today I was super-excited, yet not surprised, to answer the phone and hear that they are going to the hospital to be induced. And how perfect, Baby B is due tomorrow, October 3rd!

After nine months of waiting, tomorrow I will be able to find out what name to put on some of these baby things I’ve got hanging around.

I couldn’t believe that Justin wanted to wait nine months to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl!! I tried to bribe Karla to find out in all sorts of ways, but I failed miserably.

I even kept checking their poll to see what everyone else thought. I kept telling Karla it was TWINS. She got mad every time.

Can’t wait to meet you, Baby B. Now I better check on our friends, Carrie and Towson, who are expecting their next little dude, Jack — due October 6th. (Apparently Karla and Carrie do everything together!!)

XOXO
M, J, and S

Editor’s Note: After posting this, I called Carrie myself to check up on her and guess what — NO BABY YET!! So I took the chance to remind her that Karla’s having the baby and she’s not, “nah nah nah!”

Yoda Kitty

October 1, 2008
Yoda the Cat (Image from MSNBC/Fame Pictures)
Yoda the Cat (Image from MSNBC/Fame Pictures)

About a month ago, we saw this news article online and bookmarked it to mention it at some point. But you know how it is in the weeks leading up to a wedding…

There is a cat, with four ears, living in a Chicago suburb with a very nice family, the Rocks. The Rocks saved him — Yoda — from a life of misery in a bar. He was 8 weeks old in 2006 when they went to watch a Chicago Bears game in this bar and saw that the patrons called him “Devil Cat” and “Beelzebub.”

He was also kept in a cage at the top of the bar to entertain the customers. So the Rocks adopted him.

You may be wondering what this has to do with our wedding blog? Star, as many of you know, was our honorary flower girl at the wedding.

And she often pulls her “Yoda Kitty” stunt when we have returned from a long trip. She flattens her ears in such a way so that they point out to either side, resembling Yoda. She does this move and meows in such a way that is clearly says, “Where have you been!?” It’s all we can do to not laugh.

However, looking at this picture of Yoda the cat, I can’t help but also be reminded of Star’s favorite Halloween costume, the devil kitty.

Halloween also happens to fall on Star’s birthday, so it’s a pretty special day all around. And we think she is the best looking cat around.

XOXO

Mystery Wedding Gift – Reward Offered!

September 30, 2008

Mystery Wedding Gift Found!

Where – The Cottage, The Sundy House
When – Wedding Night (Saturday 13 September 2008)
What – Calphalon Tri Ply Stainless 2 1/2-Quart Covered Shallow Saucepan

Reward Offered – Awesome Thank You Note!!

My sweetie…my husband…is back from a long stint on a shoot out in the middle of nowhere in Massachusetts and we’re having a hard time with some of our thank you notes.

You see, when the staff at the Sundy House put all the cards and gifts in the honeymoon cottage where we stayed that night, they separated everything. All the packages/gifts in one area and all the cards in the basket. They even took cards that were taped or attached to packages and put them into the basket.

We’ve figured out some of them, but need your help with others.

We got a Calphalon Tri Ply Stainless 2 1/2-Quart Covered Shallow Saucepan. It was inside a gift bag with no card or anything.
We really like it and would love to give you a proper thank you, so if it came from you, or you know who gave it to us, please let us know!

Thanks so much!

XOXO
M, J, and S
